| Il n’est pas possible de chroniquer tous les albums [1] qui nous parviennent quasi-quotidiennement. Par contre, nous pouvons leur offrir une visibilité. C’est l’objet de cette ribambelle des albums qui devrait suivre un rythme mensuel. Une version différente de nos Piles de disques dans le passé. |
Parmi les 43 albums que nous vous présentons ce mois-ci, il y a des pépites. D’ailleurs certains ont été ou seront chroniqués dans nos pages.
Tendance portugaise...
Pour ce mois d’août 2022, nous avons regroupé des publications allant de juin... au tout début septembre 2022.
Vous noterez une forte présence de l’excellent label portugais Clean Feed (distribué en France par Orkhêstra) et de sa filiale Shhpuma. On ne s’en plaindra pas quand on connaît la curiosité et l’exigence de qualité de cette maison de disques lisboète dont Jean Buzelin vantait déjà les mérites en 2008 (ici...).
Parmi leurs publications de juin 2022, un étonnant coffret de 5 disques, chacun doté d’une pochette spécifique (bravo !) qui permet de découvrir Miha Gantar, jeune pianiste-compositeur et improvisateur slovène installé à Amsterdam. Du solo à la grande formation en cinq volets, c’est audacieux !

Trompettes
Signalons également dans cette copieuse liste de parutions récentes la présence de trompettistes évoluant dans des sphères esthétiques assez différentes. C’est ainsi que Magnus Broo et Goran Kajfes sont associés dans le groupe Angles (n°1 - Clean Feed). Le retour de Tom Harrell est également à signaler avec un nouvel album en quartet chez HighNote (n° 14). Jason Palmer s’associe, lui, au remarquable saxophoniste Mark Turner dans un album live de la série GiantStepArts animée par le célèbre photographe Jimmy Katz. Enfin, l’inclassable et incomparable Nate Wooley surprend encore sur le label Pyroclastic Records avec une musique hors-normes dans laquelle on retrouve Mary Halvorson (guitare) et Susan Alcorn (pedal Steel Guitar), entre autres (n°42).
